‘Peter Pan Fever’

An evil clown in a bow tie is presented with his chocolate caterpillar birthday cake by a Toy Story cowgirl.
This is not a 5 year old’s birthday party as the candles on the cake (and the peculiar costumes) may suggest – it is in fact my fully grown flatmate turning 19. Could it be that we arrived at university and suddenly realised that we are slowly loosing our right to be kids, so we make extravagant attempts to hold onto as much of our childhood as possible?
Or possibly the simple fact that parties for 5 year olds are genuinely more fun! 

‘A Luminescent Hooker’

When I took this photo two years ago on a lowly two mega pixel phone camera, I was only really interested in the way that Emma’s face and the leaves behind her were glowing in the light of the street lamp. So when I first uploaded the photo onto the internet, I was intrigued by the descriptions that followed; ‘Emma looks like a divine hooker’ and ‘it looks more like a luminescent dandelion’. I would love to say that I’d had all these concepts in my head as I took the photo, but to be honest, it is more likely that I was simply thinking ‘aw, that looks pretty’.
Then again, maybe there’s nothing wrong with just being a pretty picture to start with; your imagination can turn it into whatever it wants to afterwards.
